A Note About Hunger
Kelli’s Summer Hunger Notes
We’ve kicked off Stowe Mission’s 2023 Summer of Sharing! I wanted to take a moment to highlight one of our big needs this summer – FOOD.
The summer months are very challenging for many families because kids are out of school. That means there are many mouths to feed for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Stowe Mission is grateful for the truckloads of donations provided during the holiday season and winter. During the summer, however, the amount of food coming into our pantry sharply decreases while the need for food increases. Also, the number of people we feed in our Community Kitchen increases by about 20%.
Food and financial donations are vital to our ability to feed the hungry five days a week in the Community Kitchen. Your gift of $50 can provide lunch for 27 people. 50 pounds of ground beef can be used to prepare a nutritious lunchtime soup or stew for 250 people.
Our Most Needed Food Items: Canned Fruits, Canned Vegetables, Pasta & Sauce, Cereal

Pray
Join us as we pray to build lasting relationships with our neighbors and fill them with physical and transformative spiritual nurturing. Also, please pray that Stowe Mission can continue to serve the less fortunate in our community with your generous donations and willingness to volunteer.
Volunteer
Have a few extra hours to spare? Join us to stock shelves, pack food boxes and help organize our pantry. Or serve by shopping, preparing and serving a hot community lunch. Volunteer!
Coming in September!
We are excited to announce that a second Stowe Mission Food Pantry will be launched in September for those in need on the north side of Columbus. We will need lots of food donations to prepare and get the shelves ready to stock. Your food donations can be dropped off from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm at 888 Parsons Ave. We will get your food to the location where it is most needed.
As always, it is with sincere gratitude and thanksgiving that you have faithfully chosen to partner with Stowe Mission as we serve the less fortunate in our community.
